Custom-made Foot Orthotics

Every custom made foot orthotics is different. It has been made from the most technically advanced and appropriate materials to suit the individual’s biomechanics and muscular-skeletal problems. Your weight, muscle and bone development, existing and prior injuries will determine which materials are used to relieve your discomfort.

- Materials and design specifications will be adjusted to accommodate your needs; whether it is everyday use, sports related pain/injuries, functional deterioration or devices specific for children.

- We offer an alternative to the common hard rigid plastic orthotics, with a semi-rigid flexible design orthotic, which allows increased comfort, support and cushioning for a variety of foot types.

- We also offer a super slim foot orthotic suited to professional women. These are low volume and designed to take up the least amount of room possible while providing the additional support or cushioning that is required.

- We can also make UCBL foot orthotics, which are a hard plastic devices.

- Jason has 19 different styles and design of custom made foot orthotics. Each material and density will vary depending on your needs and requirements.

- While many practices send their casts away to orthotic labs, Jason manufactures all of his custom made foot orthotics by hand, on site. This is beneficial for our patients as it provides great savings on the cost of orthotics and allows an on-the-spot adjustment process should this be required.
By producing the foot orthotics on site we are not restricted by a labs insistence on using a particular material or design.

- Our aim is to aid the development of children by improving the posture and alignment of their feet, knees and hips and be able to remove them from orthotics in the shortest possible time. The time frame varies for each individual

There are a wide variety of prefabricated or custom-made orthoses for many muscular-skeletal problems. They are specialized devices and should always be fitted by a fully qualified Orthotist. By personally applying the most technically advanced and appropriate orthotics, Jason is committed to helping people feel comfortable and reach their goals.

I.O.S Orthotics have travelled the world serving the feet of athletes in the Olympics, Tour de France (cycling), Cirque Du Soleil, Depths of cold of the Antarctic, North Pole, South Pole, Patagonia, on the fairways of the PGA and WPGA, , across the Lava fields of Hawaii, Commonwealth Games, World Cup Mountain Bike Racing, Premier League Soccer in England, National Basket Ball League, AFL, V8 Motor Racing…

Footwear Advice

Specific footwear for your foot type and how to choose an appropriately fitting and supportive shoe for your weight range, activity level and type, foot shape and volume.

When a new range of runners is released, Jason studies the individual introcastrscies of the shoe including the internal materials and structures. This ensures that he is giving the correct advice, not based on marketing material.

Correctly fitting footwear is incredibly important. Jason provides a free service to our regular patients, allowing them to 'drop-by' to have a new shoe checked before wearing it to ensure the fit is correct.

Every brand of shoe has varying sizing and construction methods. Do not buy a shoe based on the size written on the box. i.e., if you are generally a size 8, a particular shoe you may require a larger size to accommodate your foot comfortably. Use the shoe size as a guide only.

Biomechanical Gait Analysis

We do not use a tread mill to walk on when doing a Biomechanical Gait assessment. Jason believes a treadmill is an inaccurate guide as you walk differently on a treadmill to accommodate your balance and the pace of the machine. Please bring in the shoes you most commonly wear, i.e. work shoes, runners, casual shoes. Do not buy any new shoes prior to seeing Jason.

Inclusive of suggested treatment such as stretching, physio, massage, acupuncture.
